My mom's new hair!

Hey guyss.  a few days ago i finally talked my mom into letting me fix her hair!!
Heres the final look

This is how moms hair was originally.  The color was faded, and it was much too long in the back!  Also, her style was a bit dated.

The first thing i did was cut her hair! I cut a lot off of the back and just a little in the front

After the cut, i used a really cheap dye by revlon in shade 41.  This hair dye is really only about 4 dollars and it works really well on my moms hair.  She has a lot of grey so she dyes it about every two weeks, so going cheaper is the best option!!

After all the dye was washed out, i styled it.  Usually she just uses a bunch of hairspray!  But it's time for a change.  I ran Alterna putty (orange container) through her hair giving it body, and then i used the ion sculpting wax to define little pieces.
This is the result!

I think it looks great!  it gives her a clean more modern look!

Elf cream eyeliner review

I got this eye liner from Target for about 3 dollars!  I love elf products and this is my first time trying one of their cream eyeliners.  The color i chose to try was black, but there were many color options.

This is what it looks like with the jar open.  Its a very cramy texture but it glines on like any other eye liner.  Its very pigmented and the brush applicator works perfectly!!!

Heres a swatch.  This is one swipe.  As you can see it is very pigmented and if you want a more dramatic look you can do more than one swipe.

I can't emphasize enough how much i love this product!  It's quicker than regular liner!  For three bucks, this is really a steal

Hope you enjoyed and check back soon!

Birthday shoes!!!

Today is my 20th birthday :)  in addition to a bottle of "Sweet Brown" tanning lotion by european gold from my best friend, i got a lovely pair of wedges from my parents.  They were about $29 at target and they are the brand "Dolce Vita"  I havent gotten the change to really wear them out yet but they pretty comfortable from what i can tell.  the back zipper can be irritating but if i pull the zipper just a hair lower that fixes the problem.  Also, they run big so if you buy them get a half size smaller than normal!!

In addition to showing you the shoes, as you can tell i am wearing the "commander in chic" nail polish as shown in my previous post!(sorry for the bad paint job, it was a quickie!!)  I think it looks really good with the shoes!  In the picture its a little more purple but its more grey in person.

come back soon for more!!

thanks

My weekend haul!

This is a small haul, but i bought a few things last weekend and im just now getting to reviewing them!

Starting from the left side, i bought sally Hansen airbrush legs in deep glow. I got this at walmart for about $12. i've used this a few times on the paler parts of me like my sides and neck that dont get very tan in the tanning bed.  i love how it bends in easily and doesnt stain my hands!

I also bought the John Frieda go blonder lightening spray from target.  I have used the go blonder shampoo and conditioner before, i didnt notice much difference.  In contrast, this spray does the trick!  I spray it on my roots before i blow dry my hair and my roots are really starting to blend in with my blonde highlights!  It makes my hair look more natural.

As for all the nail polish,  I got everything from target except for the china glaze which i got from sallys.  The far left polish is called "let's talk" by sinful colors.  I love how shiny it is when i put it on.  The next polish is by Sally Hansen and it's called "Save the date".  It's very metallic and has a burgundy sheen.  Next is the China Glaze polish, and i really dont like it.  Its from the neon collection and in order to wear this polish you MUST have a top coat.  Without one the polish looks completely matte with NO shine.  Some people might be okay with this, but i really don't want a matte nail polish.  Lastly, i bought a Sally Hansen salon manicure polish called "commander in chic".  I absolutely LOVE this polish!  its a gorgeous greyish purple and really looks good against tan skin!

Last but not least i bought a revlon photo finish concealer stick in medium deep.  This is the first stick concealer i've ever tried and i have to say i love it!  It's somewhat sheer coverage but with powder on top its perfect and not to cakey!

Well that's my little haul!  Let me know if you guys want full reviews on any of the products!!!  Check back soon!

whats in my tanning bag?

As some of you may know, I am an avid tanner!  I currently tan at "Let's get tan" here in evansville.  I've been tanning regularly for about 2 years and before that  i tanned a lot outside!  I've tried many different lotions both high end and low.  I can honestly say that some high end lotions are worth the money, but in general, i think u can get a decent tan by just buying the cheap ones!  Currently i have MANY lotions in my tanning bag, so here they are!

Low end :

zero to sexy mocha madness

This can be purchased at Sally's for 9.99 and with a beauty cub card its only 8.99
Zero To Sexy Mocha Madness Tan Accelerator is formulated with skin conditioning ingredients that sooth and keep skin moisturized to maintain a beautiful deep dark tan.  I love the consistency of the lotion, its very thick and creamy and moisturizes well.  I usually use this on my face.

European Gold 25x bronzer

 (sorry no picture!!!!)

This can be purchased at Walmart for about 9$.  I've been using this for about 2 years and i keep repurchasing.  Its quite thick and you have to really rub it in but i love the quick results!!!

Hawaiian tropic after sun lotion

This lotion can be purchased at Walmart as well for about $8.  It smells WONDERFUL and is perfect to use after you finish tanning.  Occasionally ill use it all over my stomach and back instead of using a bronzer.

High End:

Matahari Luminous step 3 tanning lotion

This is the only step 3 lotion that i have.  i use it every time i get out of the tanning bed and i notice that i keeps my tan glowing longer.  its very moisturizing and you only need a little bit to go a long way.

Queen by designer skin

This is a very popular lotion at my tanning salon and i have seen a lot of people use and love this. I paid about 50 dollars for it, but i've seen it online for less.  Expensive lotions are usually found online at different ranges of prices so just keep looking! It's probably one of my favorites and i would definitely repurchase it.  Queen Majestic 16  Bronzing Blend delivers exquisite, deep, dark color while this oh-so-special Royal Bee Jelly formula provides sumptuous nourishment, leaving skin soothed and richly hydrated.  This is another lotion that you only need a little bit to go a long way!

Black night by millennium

This is a lotion that i bought online for $25.  Its got a strange smell but it really does the job.  It is a dark tanning lotion with thermal emulsion technology but it is not a tingle.  I found it to really get me dark after only a few uses.  My only complaint is the smell.

In addition to my lotions, i have my eyewear of course.  I use the connected eyewear instead of the two piece.  I find them easier to keep on.

Well guys thats my tanning bag.  rotate lotions to keep my skin healthy so i keep a lot with me!  I hope this helps with your lotion buying!

From curls to bouncy waves!

I went to my cousins house today to do Amy's hair.

Amy has very thick red curly hair that normally looks like that ^.  it is very beautiful but she wanted a different look!

This is the final look.  I straightened her hair using my Remington wet to straight hair straightener and used a tresemme heat protectant spray.  After all the hair was straight i sectioned her hair into 3 layers and curled each later starting from the bottom with my revlon curling iron 1.5 inch.  After a few squirts of garnier fructis wonder waves, this was the outcome!  it lasted all day and is still bouncy and beautiful!

have a wonderful day guys and come back for more!

Rope Braid Tutorial!

learn how to do this really quick and cool rope braid

FIRST:
start with clean straight hair
if you want, you can spray it will
hair spray to help the braid stay in place

SECOND:
section the straight hair into two even sections on
the side or back of your head. You could do as many braids
as you wish but i chose to do one on the side.

THIRD:

Twist one section clockwise until it is tight.

FOURTH:
Twist the second section of hair in the same direction, clockwise, and make sure its tight.

LAST:
Twist both sections of hair together COUTERCLOCKWISE (very important!).
Make sure you are twisting in the opposite way as you twisted the sections.
Now you are done.  Enjoy this cool rope braid.

Nail Polish Crazy!

Hello everyone!   I recently purchased a new nail polish.  Its by China Glaze and it's called Shower Together.  Here's a pic:

This type of cerulean blue is my favorite!  As many of you know, China Glaze is a very good quality nail polish and i had this on for a week before it chipped.

Keep checking back for more!  Thanks!
